What is Aviation Day?
Aviation Day is an opportunity for the public to come out to the Vero Beach Municipal Airport for a little "Airplane Time". Held annually in spring, Aviation Day has grown from a little "fly in" to a successful family oriented community event. Every year we welcome several thousand visitors, aviation minded friends and future aviators.

What to see
History Flight has brought a B-25 and a T-6 and gave rides in both. A Grumman OV-1D Mohawk and a Douglas A-4C Skyhawk, both civilian owned lead the list of over 50 aircraft on static display, including new production aircraft, antique and classic aircraft, military and warbird aircraft, homebuilt and light sport aircraft. Also on display were scale model aircraft. To get an idea of what to expect, see the Confirmed Participant List of 2012. There are also several videos on YouTube. Search for "Aviation Day Vero Beach".

What to do
In addition to checking out the display aircraft, visitors can try their hand at two flight simulators, provided by EAA Chapter 99 and set up with the latest version of MS Flight Simulator X with add-ons and accessories (yoke pedals, switch panel similar to a real plane) and photographic scenery of Vero Beach including ground terrain. A simulator to fly radio controlled model aircraft will also be available. Visitors can take a ride in a Robinson R-44 helicopter ($35.-) or the B-25 and T-6 of History Flight (for prices log on to www.historyflight.com), or just get a close up view of the air traffic at the airport.
Shop at the Piper Pilot Shop in the terminal lobby or at several other vendors for neat airplane stuff.
